Larry Dee Cheers, age 75, of Lamar, Missouri passed away September 13, 2019, at Cox Barton County Hospital.
Larry was born October 7, 1943 in Prescott, IA to Del D. Cheers and Alberta Mae (Bridger) Cheers. He served his county in the 15th artillery in the U.S. Army from June of 1965 to May 1967. He was stationed in Fairbanks Alaska during the Vietnam war, and was a recipient of the National Defense service medal and the good conduct medal. He received his field artillery basics education in Fort sill Oklahoma. Larry is married to Joyce Elaine (Bailey) Cheers. He was an over the road truck driver and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and his grandbabies.
Survivors include his wife Joyce Cheers, of the home; a son, Terry (Amanda) Cheers, Springfield, MO; a daughter, Kimberly (Brian) Raper, Coffeyville, KS; a sister Jeannette King, Greentop, MO; three grandchildren, Andrew and Shawn Raper, and Hunter Cheers; two nephews Randy (Lori) King and Tim (Lisa) King; one niece Patti (Ralph) Craig; and several great nieces and great nephews.
Preceding Larry in death were his parents and a brother-in-law Ron King.
There will be a private family burial in Fugate Cemetery, Greentop, MO.
