Edward Gembala

Edward C. Gembala, 94, passed away September 16, 2019 at Sarcoxie Nursing Home. Edward was born September 19, 1924 in Cleveland, OH to Andrew and Stefania “Zguda” Gembala. He served in the United States Air Force during World War II as an airplane and engine mechanic, receiving an American Theater Service Ribbon and a World War II Victory Medal. Edward was a longtime Carthage resident and was a self-employed plumber and construction worker. Edward was also member of the Carthage Masonic Lodge for 58 years, as well as a member of the Shriners.

Edward was united in marriage to Wynona Jean in Lawrence County on October 19, 1952; she preceded him in death January 23, 2012.










Edward is survived by two daughters, Stella Ravenscraft of Rolla and Carol Maghee of Miller; six grandchildren, Suzy, Sally, Sandy, Michael, Carey and Brandy, as well as 15 great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
