Cyndy Savage

Cynthia “Cyndy” Carolyn Denny Savage, 72, Katy, died at her home on Sunday, Sept. 22, 2019, surrounded by her family.

She was born July 12, 1947, in Lamar, Mo., to William Verne and Mary Carolyn (Hart) Denny, who preceded her in death. She was the youngest of four children.

She graduated from Liberal High School in Liberal, Mo., in 1965 and worked as a hairdresser/stylist before entering the U.S. Navy, where she honorably served her country.

She married James Michael “Mike” Savage on Aug. 31, 1968, in Iantha, Mo., while they were both serving in the U.S. Navy. He preceded her in death on Oct. 29, 1988. They had two children, Russ Alan and Michelle Renee.

Mrs. Savage was a homemaker while rearing their children and lived in several states due to her husband’s deployment.








After his death she returned to Missouri and fulfilled a dream and built, opened and operated Just Like Grandma’s, a successful bed and breakfast, near Branson, Mo. She was involved with the United Methodist Women’s Group. She loved to cook, read, play games, do craft projects and travel.

Survivors include a son, Russ Savage, Coconut Creek, Fla.; a daughter, Michelle and wife Meghan Fairbanks, Houston; four grandchildren, Logan French, Ian French, Ben Savage and Adam Savage; siblings, Joe and wife Loretta Denny, Judy Roehrs and Bill and wife Donna Denny and several nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind a host of friends.

She will be cremated and burial will be next summer in the Iantha Cemetery, Iantha, Mo., beside her husband and parents.
