Earl Lyons

Earl Chester Lyons, 82, Neosho, MO entered into rest on September 24, 2019 after an extended illness. Chester was born November 4, 1936 in McDonald County, MO to Sumner and Ershel (Mahan) Lyons. He was a lifelong resident of the Neosho area.

He worked as a machinist for 51 years with Rocketdyne, Teledyne, Sabreliner, and Premier Turbines in Neosho, retiring in 2010. Chester also was a veteran of the US Army. He was a member of the UAW union for over 50 years. Chester enjoyed farming, coin collecting, and spending time with his grandchildren and his family. 

He married Sharon Kimbrough and together they had three daughters: Lisa Lyons of Bixby, OK, Valerie Stevens of Nixa, MO, and Angela Johnson and husband Vance of Neosho, MO. Chester is also survived by three brothers, Clifford Lyons and wife, Marty of Wetumpka, AL, Everett Lyons and wife, Barbara of Neosho, and Richard Lyons and wife, Gloria of Asbury, MO; two sisters, Millie Pogue of Neosho and Tammy Johnson and husband, Jack of Pea Ridge, AR; five grandchildren, Madeline McCrate, Molly McCrate, Hunter Stevens, Tyler Johnson and Kaylee Johnson; and other family members. 








 He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Dale Lyons and Gail Lyons.

The family will have a time of visitation beginning at 1:00 pm on Friday, September 27, 2019 at Clark Funeral Home, Granby, MO. 

 Services will begin at 2:00 pm at the Funeral Home in Granby, with J.R. Burr officiating. Interment will follow at Hazelgreen Cemetery in the Boulder City Community. Serving as pallbearers will be Tyler Johnson, Jack Johnson, Chris Johnson, Danny Lyons, Andrew Lyons, Richie Lyons, and Terry Lyons. Hunter Stevens, Vance Johnson, and Richard Wald will serve as honorary pallbearers.
