Melvin L. Ramseyer, age 84, Carl Junction, Missouri, passed away at 11:06 a.m. Thursday, September 26, 2019 at Joplin Gardens after an illness.
Melvin was born January 4, 1935 in Liberal, Missouri to the late Aaron Ramseyer and Emma Shaw Ramseyer and had lived in the Joplin area most of his life.
Melvin worked as a welder for Lozier, Inc. for over 34 years. He had also worked at the Joplin Regional Airport at Ozark Airlines for several years. Melvin was a member of Forest Park Baptist Church and a veteran of the United States Army.
He married Kathleen McCoy in 1967 in Joplin. She survives at the home.
Additional survivors include a daughter, Theresa Ramseyer, Carl Junction; and siblings, Florence and Charles Ramseyer, Harrisonville, Missouri, Beverly and Joe Ramseyer, Lamar, Kathryn and Larry Blythe, Pittsburg, Kansas; and several other extended family members.
In addition to his parents, Melvin was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Carl and Eva Ramseyer.
Services are planned for Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at Forest Park Baptist Church Chapel. Rev. Dr. John Swadley will officiate. Interment will follow at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6-7:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary Chapel.
