Ernestine Stafford

Ernestine Evelyn Bowers-Stafford was born March 22, 1935 in Bell Center, Missouri, the daughter of Marvin and Evelyn Christine (King) Mallett. She entered into rest on September 22, 2019 in Joplin, Missouri, following a short illness at the age of 84. E

Ernestine was a lifelong area resident and had worked as a CNA at Sale Memorial Hospital and the Neosho Senior Center; she had owned and operated a daycare center and raised chickens and sold farm fresh eggs on the Neosho Square. She was a member of the Racine Christian Church. 

Ernestine is survived by her husband, Leroy Stafford; four sons, Mike Bowers and wife, Arlene of Batesville, Arkansas, David Bowers and wife, Sheila of Anderson, Dennis Bowers and wife, Theresa of Anderson and Robert Bowers of Neosho; seven granddaughters, Michelle, Lisa, Melissa, Nicole, Melanie, Heather and Krisha; thirteen great grandchildren; one great great grandchild and her brother, Eugene Mallett and wife, Thelma of Carthage. 

She is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Esther Peterson.
