(From Knell Mortuary)Nancy Jean Frerer, 59, Joplin, Missouri, passed away early Monday morning, March 7, 2022 at her home. Nancy was born December 31, 1962 at Warner Robins Air Force Base in Georgia, the daughter of Harry Fields and Shirley (Ligon) Fields.
She married Ron Frerer on July 2, 1994 in Houston, Missouri. Nancy was the domestic goddess of the Frerer household. She was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening, bird watching, feeding wildlife, traveling, but most of all, spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Ron; three daughters, Megan Price (Jared), Springfield, Missouri, Niki Jones (Will), Point Blank, Texas, and Amanda Malcom (Garrett), Ozark, Missouri; a son, Trevor Frerer (Kayla), Joplin, Missouri; her mother, Shirley Fields, Warrensburg, Missouri; a brother, Bob “Biff” Gentry (Susan), Warrensburg, Missouri; four sisters, Cindy Compton (Lee), Aberdeen, South Dakota, Susan Kellogg (David), New Meadows, Idaho, Sara Denning (Mike), Chesapeake, Virginia, and Sally Atkinson (Chris), Rogersville, Missouri; a brother-in-law, Kerry Story, Carthage, Missouri; a sister-in-law Barbara Spencer (Jim), El Dorado Springs, Missouri; and eleven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Harry Fields; a sister, Sarah Story; and her father and mother-in-law, Victor and Maxine Frerer.
Memorial services will be held 11 am, Saturday, March 12, 2022 at Knell Mortuary, Carthage. Memorial gifts are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Watered Gardens, Joplin, Missouri in care of Knell Mortuary. Online condolences may be expressed through www.knellmortuary.com.
