Zula Weixelbaum

Zula M. Weixelbaum, of Joplin, passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2022 after a sudden illness. She was 76.

Zula was born July 4, 1945 in Jonesboro, Arkansas, daughter of the late Verlin Thomas Farmer and Nola (Riddell) Farmer. She grew up in Arkansas, and graduated from Harcourt High School. She lived in Arkansas, Alabama, and Missouri and worked most of her life as a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She also worked for several years at Sunbeam, and then as a security guard with Securitas. She was a member of Christian Valley Baptist Church.








Zula enjoyed spending time with family and was very proud of her daughters and grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by many.

In addition to her parents, Zula was preceded in death by seven of her older brothers.

Survivors include her husband of 36 years, Fred Weixelbaum of Joplin; daughters Nancy Larkin of Coatopa, Alabama and Jen Miller and husband Alex of Highlands Ranch, Colorado; five grandchildren, Brittany Kress and husband Thomas McFadden; Austin Miller and fiancée Celia Young, Michaela Lathrop-Miller and husband Aaron; Max Eshleman and wife Kalyn; and Andy Miller; two great-grandchildren, Kaitlynn Greene and Lynsey McFadden; brothers, Cleadis Farmer of Eolia, Missouri, and Nelson Farmer of Nelsonville, Arkansas; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Private services were held by the family.
