Carolyn Gering

Carolyn Sue Gering of Fairland, OK passed from this life Monday, May 24, 2021 at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, MO. She was 78.

Carolyn was born November 3, 1943 in Miami, OK to Burl V. and Helen C. (Parish) Craig. She had lived in the Fairland and Miami area all her life. 

Carolyn was a Registered Nurse and had worked at Freeman East Hospital in Joplin and Eastern State Hospital in Vinita. She also had worked as a seamstress at Glen Berry Garment Manufacturing. She attended Immanuel Baptist Church in Miami, OK and loved Bluegrass music and was a bass player and singer.







She was preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers, Herman Tinsley, Carl Tinsley, Floyd Craig and Jimmie Craig and 1 sister, Joyce Glover.

Carolyn married Jim Gering and he survives of the home. Additional survivors include 3 sons, Justin Gering of Afton, OK, Jim Gering and wife Annette of Miami, OK and John Gering and wife Neka of Miami, OK, 6 daughters , Connie Parker and husband Lloyd of Miami, OK, Cindy Brashar of Fairland, OK, Teresa Stepp of Miami, OK, Julie Purcell and husband Robert of Miami, OK, Jamie Craig of Miami, OK, and Keesha Gering of Norman, OK, 18 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 3 great great- grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 28, 2021 Paul Thomas Funeral Home Chapel in Miami, OK. Rev. Ray Clonts will officiate. Interment will be in Butler Cemetery, south of Grove, OK. Bobby Rush, Keith Rush, Jaden Silva, Jordan Silva, Blayne Rush and Jared Gering will serve as pallbearers. 

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday evening at the Paul Thomas Funeral Home Chapel in Miami, OK.
