(From Hedge-Lewis-Goodwin Funeral Home)Mr. Robert Lewis “Sonny” Eddington, 65, of Webb City, Missouri, departed this life on Wednesday, May 26, 2021, in the comfort of his home.
Sonny entered this life on March 11, 1956, in St. Louis, Missouri, son of late Robert Eugene and Louisa Jane (Burwick) Eddington. He resided in Fresno, California until moving to Carl Junction, Missouri his senior year, graduating from Carl Junction High School in 1974.
Sonny served his country faithfully in the United States Army from September of 1974 until September of 1977. He resided in Tulsa, Oklahoma until moving to the Joplin/Webb City area in 2014. His work history included Cardinal Scales, Mill Creek Carpet and Tile and Dyno Nobel. He loved spending time outdoors and traveling.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Jacob Eugene Eddington; and two brothers, Will and Alan Eddington.
Sonny is survived by his wife, Stephanie Eddington of the home; three children, Miranda Bruce, Blake Wilson, Brock Wilson, Nash Smith and Graceson Eddington; and one grandson, Jacob Bruce.
Graveside services with full military honors will be held on Thursday morning, June 3, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield, Missouri. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of the Hedge-Lewis-Goodwin Funeral Home in Webb City, Missouri.
