Rosemary Newton

Our beloved Mom Rosemary Newton, age 74, passed away peacefully at the family farm, Wednesday May 19, 2021.

Rosemary was born on May 26, 1946, in Wishart, MO, the daughter of Glen and Margaret Sell.

She married the love of her life Larry Newton on November 10, 1971. He preceded her in death June 29, 2020.








She is survived by four children that she loved and adored, daughters, Tina King husband Kyle, Ft. Myers FL, Marcella Dawson, Kansas City MO, sons, Sammy Burks, Joplin MO, Sean Newton wife Rhonda, Joplin, MO. She had seven grandchildren and five greatgrandchildren.

Four siblings including: Glendene McBroom Fair Grove MO and Carol Breiner Baxter Springs, KS, many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by brother David Clark and sister Brenda Beck.

Rosemary loved and was devoted to teaching and working with children and their families for 40 years as Owner and Operator of Yuppie Kidz Daycare.

She and Larry bought their dream farm in Granby MO breeding and raising beautiful Quarter and Paint horses. She was an avid lover of gardening, hunting, the outdoors, bright moons and starry nights.

A Memorial Visitation will be held Tuesday May 25th, 6pm – 7pm at Mason-Woodard Mortuary. Memorial contributions may be given to Area Agency on Aging Meals on Wheels or Avalon Hospice in care of the mortuary.

Our family wishes to express our deepest appreciation to the care givers and nurses for their compassion and care from Amedisys Home Health Care and Avalon Hospice.
