(From Parker Mortuary)Patricia Ann Simpson, 67, of Galena, Kansas, passed away Monday, May 3, 2021 with family by her side.
Patti was born August 24, 1953 in Kansas City, Missouri to the late Raymond Simpson and Dorothy Reeser.
Patti worked many years as a bartender developing many lifelong friendships. She was a member at Central Christian Church in Joplin. Patti had a smile that could light up any room and loved to make people laugh. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, cooking, traveling, occasional trips to the casino, and collecting antiques. Patti was very fashionable, always making sure her jewelry matched what she was wearing. She was a very giving person, donating her time and talents to those in need. Patti cherished the time she was able to spend with family and friends and the memories created with them. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, Patti was preceded in death by two sisters, Carol Jean Rhea and Sandra McKnight; and two brothers, Robert Simpson and Jerry Lee Simpson.
She is lovingly survived by her three sons, Charles Painter, Michael Herndon, and Phillip Herndon; brother, Danny Simpson and wife, Lisa; sister, Katherine McLaughlin; brother-in-law, Don McKnight; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; close friend, Brenda Colon; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
A celebration of life dinner will be held on Sunday, June 6, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at the Galena Community Building.
Cremation arrangements are under the care and direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
