(From Parker Mortuary)Freddie Roy Crayton, age 74, of Joplin, passed away on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at the Solace House of Joplin.
Freddie was born September 16, 1946 in Joplin, son of the late Albert Creighton and Mamie (Theus) Creighton. He grew up in Joplin, attending Lincoln Elementary School, East Junior High, and then graduating from Joplin High School.
He worked for years with Snyder Construction as a heavy equipment operator, working mainly in road construction, which included projects such as old Highway 71 from Joplin to Neosho. He was also a very accomplished carpenter and a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. During his lifetime, he valued the time he was able to spend with nieces, nephews, and his grandchildren.
Survivors include his life partner, ArBella Rodgers; brothers, Oatis Crayton and Lara Cration both of Joplin; numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be Friday, May 28, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. in Parker Mortuary Chapel. Interment will follow in Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Parker Mortuary on Monday from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.
