Bobby Foster

Bobby Ray Foster, age 87, Joplin, passed away on Monday, August 8, 2022 at his home with family at his side.

Bobby was born July 16, 1935 in Neosho, Missouri, son of the late William Milton Foster and Iva Ethyl (Fenimore) Foster. He grew up in Neosho and graduated from Neosho High School. 

 He worked as an independent produce seller, working in both wholesale and retail sales. He had a place on South Rangeline for many years, and also sold produce in Salt River, Arizona for years before returning to Joplin in 2001. He most recently had a stand on the Neosho Square.








Bobby was a very active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where he was a Primary Teacher of 7 year old children, was a Bishop Counselor, a High Priest, and a member of the Elder’s Quorum. He was also very active with the Boy Scouts through the Church. He had a passion for helping others, and was a devoted family man. He will be greatly missed by many.

In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by his wife, Dolores Darlene (Kilgore) Foster who passed away on January 10, 2004, a brother, Lee Foster, and an infant sister, Betty Ann.

Survivors include his sons, Kenton Foster and wife Julia of Loma Linda, Missouri, Kevin Foster and wife Jamie of Neosho, daughters, Julie Landers and husband Paul of Hollister, Missouri, and Darissa Perry and husband Roark of Mesa, Arizona; 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, (and three on the way).








Funeral service will be Saturday, August 13, 2022 at 9:00 a.m. in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on Indiana Ave, Joplin with Bishop Dr. Heath Merkley presiding over the service. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Neosho.

The family will receive friends at Parker Mortuary on Friday from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Rheumatoid Arthritis Foundation care of Parker Mortuary.
