Jason was a family man and a wonderful provider, always putting his family first. He was known for his corny "dad jokes" and his holiday house/yard decorating for Halloween and Christmas. He enjoyed watching bad horror and zombie movies with his daughters and was famous for his decorated cakes and cookies. Jason was a Master Mason with the Joplin Masonic Lodge #335 and Oronogo Mineral Lodge #471 and a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Danya Walker, of Joplin; his two daughters, Renee Walker, of Jefferson City and Samantha Walker, of Joplin; his parents Dean and Danny Walker, of Joplin; his brother Joshua Walker, of Diamond; aunts, uncles, and extended family members.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary in Joplin with inurnment at a later date. The family will receive friends on Monday, August 15th beginning at 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM with Masonic Rites to begin at 6:00 PM.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family to help with expenses incurred during Jason's courageous battle with cancer.

His final wish was for people to think that he didn't succumb to cancer but instead died saving a village by jumping into a volcano in Finland.

"Dear God, whose name I do not know-thank you for my life. I forgot how big...thank you. Thank you for my life." Joe Banks-Joe Versus the Volcano
