Lois Parker

Lois M. Parker, 92, of Parsons, died at 8 a.m., Sunday, August 7, 2022 at the Elmhaven Nursing Home in Parsons where she entered ten days ago.
She was born May 18, 1930, at Byron, Oklahoma, to William R. and Rena Olive (Flowers) Coss. She grew up in Cherokee, Oklahoma and attended school there.

On March 28, 1948 she and Roy L. Parker were married in Cherokee and settled in the Parsons area in December of 1949. Roy preceded her in death on August 8, 1983.









Lois was active in working the family farm. She also worked as a meat wrapper at locker plants and was employed at the Parsons Travel Plaza from its opening until she was 84 years old.

She was an active member of the First Christian Church and had served as a deacon.

Surviving are two daughters, Beverly Ball (Mark Hight) of Hinton, Oklahoma and Diana Spielbusch (Steve) of Parsons; five grandchildren, Debbie Woodring (Mark Taylor) of Weatherford, Oklahoma, Bryan Spielbusch (Sheena) of Quincy, Michigan, Jeff Spielbusch (Stacie) of Parsons, Bruce Spielbusch of Clawson, Michigan and Julie Dhooghe (Joe Forshey) of Parsons; 10 great-grandchildren; and a brother Bill Coss, Jr. (Timmie) of Neosho, Missouri. 

Preceding her in death was her husband, Roy, a son-in-law, John Ball and a sister, Barbara Corbin.








The funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Friday, at the First Christian Church, with Rev. Jennifer Dawson officiating. Burial will be in East Bethany Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Carson-Wall Funeral Home from 7 to 8 p.m., Thursday.
