Bennie Hines

Bennie Oren Hines, 80, of Rocky Comfort, Missouri, entered into rest on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at his residence with his loving family by his side.

Bennie was born on June 18, 1942 in McDonald County, Missouri to the late, Oren and Adella (McFarland) Hines. He grew up and attended school in McDonald County and later served our country in the United States Army from 1960 to 1962. 









Bennie worked at the Hines Brothers Wood Products for several years and he also worked as a welder and at Wal-Mart Fixture and Print Shop. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Neosho, Missouri and attended services at the Living Word Mission at Simco, Missouri. Bennie was a lifelong farmer and enjoyed his cattle, horses and working in his woodshop. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.

He married Traudy Shellenberger on April 11, 1986 and she survives of the home. Additional survivors include, two sons, Bennie Hines II of Rocky Comfort, Missouri, Raymond Hines and wife, Mincy of Mount Juliet, Tennessee; two sisters, Helen Stephens of Rocky Comfort, Missouri and Jane Mahurin of Russellville, Arkansas; a brother, Leroy Hines and wife, Jeannie of Anderson, Missouri; five grandchildren and one great grandchild; along with a host of other family and friends who will dearly miss Bennie.

Bennie was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Raymond S. Hines and two sisters, Sharlet Berry and Virginia Spurgin. The family would like to thank Dr. Jacob Edge; Joplin Freeman West and Monett Integrity Hospice for all of their care during Bennie’s illness.








Funeral Services for Bennie will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 13, 2023 at the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Home. Jeff Cantwell will officiate. Burial will follow the service in the Union Cemetery in Stella, Missouri. Those honoring Bennie’s life by serving as pallbearers, Bo Hines, Joe Stephens, Dewayne Stephens, Wayne Blevins, Josh Stephens, James Hall. Honorary Pallbearers, Brandon Hines, Delbert Roe, Levi Spears, Harold Frye. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral home on Thursday, January 12, 2023. The family will receive friends at this time.

Memorial contributions may be given in loving memory of Bennie, to the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association in care of the funeral home.
