(From Parker Mortuary)Donald “Don” Wolfskill, age 88, Joplin, passed away on Thursday, January 5, 2023 at Communities of Wildwood in Joplin, MO.
Don was born December 10, 1934 in Kansas City, MO to the late Frank and Ruth (Neel) Wolfskill. He graduated from the Univ. of Missouri in 1958 with a bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering.
At that time, he was commissioned an Ensign in the United States Navy. He served on active duty for six years and in the reserves for 15 years, retiring as a Lt. Commander.
In 1962, he entered graduate school at MU, graduating in 1964 with a Master of Business Administration degree, and began working for IBM. He retired from IBM in 1990.
Don joined St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in 1984 and after his retirement enjoyed volunteering there in many different capacities. He especially enjoyed the men’s breakfast group, the Forum Sunday School Class, and for several years, mowing the church property.
Don married “the love of my life”, Sarah (Kay) Roland on April 16, 1961, and enjoyed 61 years of marriage. She survives. Other survivors include, sister-in-law, Shirley Barnes, niece, Karen Farish, and nephew, Kenton Barnes, all of the Dallas metro area, and nephew, William Evans of Redding, CA.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations to honor Don be made to St. Paul’s United Methodist Church.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 14th, 2023 at 10:00a.m. at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church.
Cremation arrangements are under the care and direction of Parker Mortuary.
