(From Clark Funeral Home)Virgil ‘Elmer’ Sparlin was born March 23, 1939 in Wyandotte, Oklahoma, one of six children to Basil and Ruby Sparlin. He entered into rest on January 13, 2023 in the comfort of his home in Neosho, at the age of 83.
Elmer owned and operated ‘Mama’s Place’ with his wife, Jessie; had worked at Sunbeam and was a cattle farmer. He enjoyed farming and working with his cattle and pigs.
Elmer married Jessie Cooper and she preceded him in death on February 27, 2018.
He is survived by three children, Larry (Susan) Sparlin, Neosho; Jerry (C.J.) Sparlin, Neosho and Kathy (Roger) King, Maysville, AR; one brother, Leroy Sparlin, Goodman, one sister, Oma Lee Bates, Miami, OK and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other family and friends.
In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by two brother, Theodore Sparlin and Jr. Sparlin and a sister, Joyce Keener.
