Jeff Neblett

Jeffrey D. “Jeff” Neblett, 64, of McCune, passed away at 2:08 p.m., Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born on September 3, 1958, to James Deward Neblett and Virginia Lee (Nicholson) Neblett in Joplin, Missouri. As a young boy, he grew up and attended school in Joplin until his sophomore year in high school. He then moved to McCune, where he graduated from McCune High School in 1976.








In 1978, he began a 44 year-long career at the Kansas Army Ammunition Plant. He retired in February of 2022, due to his health. For many years, while working full-time, he also farmed full-time.

He attended the McCune Methodist Church. Jeff loved his farm and his family. Gardening with his grandchildren was one of his favorite things to do. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles, drinking coffee with his friends at the Corner Store and riding the Gator around the farm.

On May 23, 1985, Jeff and Debbie Fox were united in marriage in Miami, Oklahoma. She survives of the home.

One son – Kyle Neblett (Cortney) of McCune, Kansas

Two daughters – Miranda Dillon (Stan) of Lenexa, Kansas

Kaylena Atwood (Eric) of Fort Scott, Kansas

Nine grandchildren – Autumn, Tymber, Skyler, Kynlee, Bailey, Braylon, Hailie, Payton, and Blaze

Three brothers – Steven Neblett of Clarkston, Washington








Craig Neblett (Rocky) of Carl Junction, Missouri

Keith Neblett (Melissa) of Carl Junction, Missouri

Two sisters – Cindy White (Martin) of Scammon, Kansas

Laura Kirk (Kent) of Oswego, Kansas

Many nieces and nephews

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 6, 2023, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home of Parsons. Burial will follow at the McCune Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice or McCune Methodist Church. These may be left at or mailed to Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 374, Parsons, KS 67357.
