(From Parker Mortuary)Jimmie Lou Longman (Cole) McKellips was born on a farm near Logan, Iowa on February 18th, 1934, and went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 8th, 2023, she was 88 years old.
She married Billy E. Cole in 1951 and to that union she had four children.
In 1977 she married Edward Charles (Bub) McKellips at the Baptist Church in Diamond, Missouri, and were married for 23 plus years.
Jimmie attended grade and high school in Iowa until the family moved to Granby, Missouri. After schooling in Iowa and Missouri, she enrolled in Franklin Tech receiving her CAN certificate and worked at hospitals and nursing homes in Neosho and Joplin. She retired in 1992 as a Home Health Caregiver. She was also a member of the United States Bowling Congress and bowled on the Senior League at Bowl East and 4th Street Bowl in Joplin, which she enjoyed so much. She was a huge Kansas City Chiefs fan and never missed a televised game. She also was able to attend a Chiefs game in Kansas City.
She also enjoyed traveling with her husband, Bub, and would take their 5th wheel to south Texas in the wintertime and traveled across the western United States. They were good dancers and loved to go to dances and really enjoyed their retired time. She also loved to crochet.
Jimmie lived a good life, loved her children, enjoyed all the places in her travels, made many friends along the way and will be missed by all who knew her.
She wrote this to her children:
“To have lived with joy and sorrow
To have weathered the sun and rain
Is to know there is a better tomorrow
After the heartache and pain”

She is preceded in death by her husband, Edward (Bub) McKellips; sisters, Norma Longman and Jenelle Frette; brothers, Robert Longman and Victor Longman; and a special niece, Teresa Lynch.
She is survived by her children, Sue Barnett and husband, Jay, Bev McKnight and husband, Jerry, and James Cole, all of Tulsa, OK; grandchildren, Wade and Tiffany Crouse, of Sand Springs, OK, Corey Crouse, of Tulsa, OK, Lindsay Standford and life partner, Melissa Thompson, of South Coffeyville, OK; two great-grandchildren, Hanna and Hayden Crouse, of Sand Springs, OK; several nieces and nephews; one brother, Max Longman, of Joplin, Missouri; one special friend, Dan Willey; and many friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made out to the Parkinson's Foundation or Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
Private Graveside Service will be held at Diamond Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Parker Mortuary.
