(From Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary)Jolene “Jo” Jacobs, 74, of Joplin, Missouri, departed this life on Monday, January 9, 2023, at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, Missouri, after a recent battle with cancer.
Jo entered this life on January 23, 1948, in Hoisington, Kansas, the only daughter born to the late Billy and Arlene (Lotridge) Brown. She was raised in Noel, Missouri and attended Noel and Southwest City schools, graduating in 1966 from Southwest City High School.
Jo was a devoted homemaker throughout her life. She enjoyed bird watching, flowers, professional wrestling and caring for her beloved cat, Pumpkin. She attended Second Assembly of God in Joplin.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Danny Brown.
Jo is survived by her son, Jerry Jones and wife, Stephanie, of Joplin; a brother, Billy Brown and wife, Brenda, of Southwest City; as well as a host of other family and friends.
Graveside services are 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 13, 2023, at the Noel Cemetery in Noel, Missouri with Pastor Marilyn O’Brien officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 5-7:00 p.m. in the chapel of Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary in Joplin. Arrangements are under the direction of Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary in Joplin, Missouri.
