(From Clark Funeral Home)Joseph Francis Schibi, Jr. was born on January 31, 1947, in Rockville Center, New York. He entered into rest on January 2, 2023, in the comfort of his home at the age of 75.
Joe graduated high school from East Rockaway High School in New York and continued his education at NW MO State at Maryville, graduating with a bachelor's degree in education. He taught in the Neosho Public Schools for over 30 years and, after retirement, continued substitute teaching.
During the summers, he worked for the city of Neosho Parks and Recreation Departments. He loved history and learning, especially history related to the Roman Empire and WW II. He was always learning and never grew tired of education.
On June 1, 1968, in Maryville, Missouri, Joe and Martha Jane Bender were united in marriage, and she preceded him in death on April 14, 2020.
He is survived by four children, Missy (Rich) Brunetto of Neosho, Kristie Graham of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Brian (Angela) Schibi of Bentonville, Arkansas and David (Vanessa) Schibi of Neosho; eleven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and siblings, Margaret Schibi of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, Patricia Bennett of Roxbury, Connecticut, Robert Schibi of Bayville, New York, Therese Potters of Long Beach, New York and Matthew Schibi of Sound Beach, New York.
