(From Simpson Funeral Home)Rickey Wayne Richardson passed away January 6, 2023 at the age of 64.
Rickey was born October 3, 1958 in Webb City, MO to Bever (Jack) Richardson and Patricia Richardson. He grew up in Carterville, Missouri as a friendly child who enjoyed spending time with animals and learning to play music.
He enjoyed learning new things, and earned a bachelor’s degree at Missouri Southern State College and a master’s in statistics at Missouri S&T. He then used these degrees to work as a computer programmer. He worked for Jack Henry and Associates for 25 years.
Rickey enjoyed playing guitar and piano, as well as writing his own songs. He spent time doing puzzles and various activities with his family. He spent 31 wonderful years married to his wife, Cindi Richardson. He was a friendly man who enjoyed being with his family.
Rickey was a faithful man who attended Forest Park Baptist Church in Joplin. He enjoyed socializing there and volunteered helping organize adult Sunday school classes for about 10 years.

Rickey is survived by his wife, Cindi; two children, Amanda Baker and husband, Luke, and Kim Richardson; and his brother Mike Mesplay and wife, Donna. He was preceded in death by his parents and his half-brother, Steve Mesplay.
A memorial service will be held January 14, 2023, in the chapel at Forest Park Baptist Church located at 725 S Highview Ave, Joplin, MO 64801 at 11:00 am following a reception at 10:00 am.
