Rita Cramer

Rita Alberta Cramer, 87 of Baxter Springs, KS passed from this life on Thursday, January 12, 2023 at Quaker Hill Skilled Nursing Facility.

Rita was born May 27, 1935 in Commerce, Oklahoma to the union of Albert Garold Daniel and Nettie Emma (Long) Daniel. 

Rita was united in marriage to James William Cramer on December 1, 1951 in Bentonville, Arkansas. He preceded her in death on August 1, 1993.








Rita worked at Wal-Mart, Quaker Hill Nursing Home and was a seamstress at King Louie Manufacturing Company in Baxter Springs, KS retiring in 2000. 

Rita enjoyed working jigsaw puzzles, crocheting, collecting Elvis’s memorabilia, reading and listening to country music. As a seamstress when her daughters were at a young age she often made them all matching dresses. She was the glue of her family and loved spending time with her family and grandchildren and was there for them on any occasion. When Rita was healthy, she attended the Assembly of God Church, Baxter Springs, KS, and Tri-State Faith Center, Cardin, OK.

Rita is preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Jamie Cramer; daughters, Diedra Harvey, and Jean Ray; grandson, Jim Cramer III; two brothers, and two sisters.








Rita is survived by one son, James Cramer Jr., and wife Tracy of Baxter Springs, KS; daughter, Treva Colvard and husband Sam of Galena, KS; son-in-law, Steve Ray of Carl Junction, MO; along with multiple grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; along with extended family.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at Derfelt’s Baxter Chapel. Pastor Charles Clevenger will officiate. Burial will follow in the Baxter Springs Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6:00-7:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at Derfelt’s Baxter Chapel. Memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Association in care of the funeral home.
