Carl Layton

Carl Berdey Layton, 60, of Purdy, Missouri was called to his Heavenly home on Monday November 6, 2023 at his home in Purdy. He was born in Ft. Riley, Kansas on December 12, 1962; the son of the late Vernie Leroy and Elsie Louis (Eggert) Layton.

He was a carpenter, served 6 years in the Army National Guard and attended Chapel of Grace Church in Monett.

Carl is survived by three sons: Carl Layton of Monett, Missouri, Robert Layton of Monett, Missouri, and Kip Layton of Oronogo, Missouri; two daughters: Shawna Clevenger of McDowell, Missouri, and Jessica Layton of Monett, Missouri; one brother: Roy Layton of Marionville, Missouri; three sisters: Margaret Meads of Joplin, Missouri, Sharon Garrett of Butterfield, Missouri, and Elsie Layton of Neosho, Missouri; and nine grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Vernie and Elsie; former friend Helen Irene Miller; one son: Carl V. Layton and one brother: James Carnes.

Funeral services for Carl are being held on Thursday November 9, 2023 at 5:00p.m. at the Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home in Monett, Missouri. Visitation will immediately follow funeral services from 6:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. at the Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home.
