Karen Viles

Karen Sue DePriest Viles, 83 of Joplin, Missouri passed away on Monday, November 6, 2023 at her residence with her loving family by her side.

She was born on September 21, 1940, in Stella, Missouri to the late, Frances and Homer DePriest. Karen was raised on the farm near McNatt. Karen married the love of her life, Jon Michael Viles on November 7, 1958. She was employed by the State Bank of Noel for 13 years and at American Family Homes for 13 years.

 

Karen was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Ina Brock and her daughter, Jonna Kaye Ludiker.

She is survived by her husband, Jon Michael (Mike) Viles; children, Michael P. Viles, Lisa Diane Meek; siblings, Dale DePriest and Jeannie DePriest; grandchildren, Michael Paul Viles, II, Paige Nicole Meek and Connor Lovic Viles; great grandchildren, Logan Viles and Arianna Viles; as well as a host of other family and friends who will dearly miss Karen.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes. Pastor Randy DePriest will officiate. Private burial of cremains will be held at the Banner Cemetery in Anderson, Missouri.
