Carolyn Wilson

Carolyn Wilson, 82, of Rural Parsons, died at 12:25 P.M., Tuesday, October 31, 2023 at her home.

She was born January 10, 1941 at Lamar, Missouri, a daughter of Forrest and Lucretia (Zinn) Gossett. Her family moved to Limon, CO where she attended school until moving to Rural Parsons. She graduated from the Labette County Community High School in 1959 and then moved to Wichita.








On April 20, 1960 she was united in marriage to Bill Wilson in Wichita. The couple lived at McComb and Brookhaven, Mississippi, Independence, Kansas and Olathe before returning to Parsons in 1971. She was employed at the former Brodrick’s Clothing Manufacturing Co. and later worked many years at Power Flame. Mr. Wilson preceded her in death on June 8, 2021.

She was a member of the Center Bethel Church at Rural Parsons. She enjoyed quilting and was an avid golfer.








Survivors include: one son and daughter in-law – Billy Joe and Merinda Wilson, of Parsons; eleven grandchildren – Lonnie Wilson, Jessica Brooks, Jim Wilson, Brittney Wilson, Josh Wilson, Jordyn Winter, Aaron Grow, Heidi Grow, Darrell Winter, Ronald Wilson and Philip Wilson; twenty-six great-grandchildren with one on the way; one great-great grandson; one brother – Douglas Gossett, of the Wichita area. She was preceded in death by Two brothers – Jim Gossett and John Gossett; and three sisters – Nancy Opitz, Dorothy Kimmons and Frances Cox.

A private service will be held at a later date. Inurnment will be in Springhill Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Center Bethel Church and may be left at or mailed to the CARSON-WALL FUNERAL HOME, P.O. Box 942, Parsons, KS 67357. Online condolences may be left at www.wallfuneralservices.com.
