Margaret Cassity

Margaret Cassity, 91, of Purdy, MO, passed from this life on Sunday, December 3, 2023 while at Cox South Medical Center in Springfield, MO.

Margaret was born on September 26, 1932 in Purdy, MO, daughter of the late Joseph and Clara (Jaster) Golubski. Margaret grew up on the family farm and attended school in Pulaskifield. She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, where she volunteered her time in several different capacities. 

Margaret loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a wonderful cook and homemaker. She enjoyed working on her farm where she gardened, raising countless tomatoes. She also enjoyed fishing. Margaret loved providing for her family. She worked for over eighteen years at the Pierce City Garment Factory and then for over thirty-five years at Cox-Monett Hospital.

She was united in marriage to Alvah Cassity on April 5, 1971 in Miami, OK. To this union, they have been blessed with over fifty-years of wonderful memories made together.

Margaret is survived by her husband, Alvah, of the home; her sons, Jason Cassity and wife Tammy, of Purdy, MO and Aaron Cassity and wife Dawn, of Mt. Vernon, MO; her stepdaughter, Stacy Cassity, of Joplin, MO; two grandchildren, Chase Cassity, of Republic, MO and Cameryn Cassity, of Mt. Vernon, MO; as well as a host of extended family and friends.







Margaret was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters.

Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 7, 2023 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Pulaskifield, MO, with Father Paul Pudhota officiating. Interment will follow in Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday with Rosary at 7:00 p.m., both held at the funeral home. 

Memorial contributions have been suggested to Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church or Cemetery. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett, MO.
