Jackie Robertson

Jackie Elaine Robertson, 72, of Joplin, Missouri, passed away on December 20th, 2023, after a 4-year battle with cancer. She passed away with her children by her side.

Jackie Santee was born on November 3rd, 1951, in Mound Valley, Kansas, to Donald and Thelma Santee. Upon graduating from Parsons Senior High School in 1969, she enrolled at Labette County Community College, where she obtained an associate degree. Subsequently, she transferred to Kansas State College of Pittsburg, majoring in Elementary Education, and earned a bachelor’s degree followed by a master’s degree.

After completing her education, Jackie commenced her teaching career in Oswego, Kansas, where she served as an educator for a few years before securing a position as a first-grade teacher at Irving Elementary School in Joplin, Missouri. While in Joplin, she met her husband, Charles “Robbie” Robertson III. She dedicated her services to the school until her retirement in 1998.

After her retirement, Jackie made a commitment to motivate her parents to travel by organizing various cruises and international trips. During this time, she discovered a passion for traveling herself and successfully accomplished her goal of visiting all 50 states in the US, as well as traveling to other destinations such as Mexico, The Caribbean, and Europe. She consistently involved her family in her travels to instill in them the same love for traveling.

Jackie found great pleasure in spending time with her children and grandchildren. She actively planned family events to ensure that the bond between them remained strong. To her, family was a precious and invaluable asset, deserving of her time and attention.

Jackie was preceded in death by her husband, Charles “Robbie” Robertson III. They were married for 43 years, from 1978 until he passed away in 2022. They owned and operated a printing press business together, Robertson Equipment Company.

Jackie is survived by her four children and three grandchildren. They include her son Rusty Robertson and wife Lacey, son Keith Robertson, daughter Holly Robertson, daughter Michelle Ryan and husband Caleb, grandson Ryan Robertson, grandson Tyler Robertson, and granddaughter Emily Robertson. She is also survived by her brother Ray Santee and wife Tong, sister Twyla Shields and Husband Al, and sister Donna Shaad and Husband David.

Jackie has left behind a lasting legacy that will endure through her children. They will carry on the adventures that she initiated, ensuring that her memory lives on.

Jackie will always be remembered as a loving daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother. She brought happiness to the world and changed the lives of those she was close to. She will be remembered forever.
