(From Countryside Funeral Home)Flora “Beth” Holloway passed away peacefully at Diversicare of Chanute, Kansas on December 10, 2023 where she had resided since August 2021.
Beth was born on January 21, 1936 to Yancy and Edith Kyle in Neosho, Missouri. She graduated from Neosho High School and married the love of her life Dale Holloway on February 14, 1953.
While Dale was in the Army, the couple was stationed in the Pacific Northwest but decided to return to Neosho where they raised their two daughters Pam and Kelli.
Beth delighted in her role as wife and mother. Artistically talented, an avid gardener, and devoted to animals of all kinds, she eventually became a certified dog groomer and entrepreneur in doll making. In 1980 she moved to Southeast Kansas and eventually settled in Chanute because of Dale’s work. Her capacity to nurture, laugh and love touched the lives of many.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Dale Holloway, her sisters, Ella Mae Daniels and Geta Markley and her nephew, Phillip Markley. She is survived by her daughters Pamela S. Gorecki of Chanute, Kansas; Kelli L. Holloway, M.D. (K.J. Zerbe, M.D.) of Portland, Oregon; grandsons Ben Jones (Jherilyn) and Kyle Jones (Andrea), and one great granddaughter.
Other survivors include her brother-in-law Howard Markley, Dennis, Kansas; nieces Connie Brown (Richard) and Karen Gilstrap, and nephew Curtis Danials.
Beth will be greatly missed by friends and family. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Allen County Animal Rescue Facility (ACARF) in La Harpe, KS. Services entrusted to Countryside Funeral Home, 101 N. Highland, Chanute, Kansas 66720.
