Gloria Swisher

Gloria J. Swisher, age 83, of Afton, Oklahoma passed into the arms of her Lord on Tuesday, December 19, 2023. Gloria was born in Dallas, Texas on April 24, 1940 to Jack and Marguerite (Moore) Hoag. She graduated with the Grove High School Ridgerunner class of 1959.

Gloria was a member of Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in Miami, Oklahoma. She enjoyed her ‘soap operas’ as part of her daily routine. She had a delightful personality and loved to joke and laugh. Her unique laughter made everyone in her presence laugh as well. She was an accomplished artist and enjoyed painting. Most of all she loved her family and was exceptionally proud of her children and grandchildren. She will be greatly missed.

Gloria is survived by her children Tanya Goza (Dewayne) of Afton, Oklahoma, Kathy Lamb of Joplin, Missouri, Tommy Swisher (Linda) of Fairbanks, Alaska, Lisa Swisher (Mike Evans) of Rose, Oklahoma and Lance Swisher (Sherry) of Miami, Ok; brother Larry Ellliott (Kathy) of Star, North Carolina; 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

Funeral Services for Gloria will be held at 1pm on Thursday, January 4, 2024 at Nichols- Stephens Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at New Salem Cemetery in Neosho, Missouri.
