(From Parker Mortuary)Nelda Ruth Burrow, age 85, of Joplin, passed away on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at Mercy Hospital in Joplin.
Nelda, daughter of the late Jack and Willa (Roughton) Etris, was born on August 10, 1938, in Decatur, AR. She graduated from Decatur High School with the class of 1955. Soon after she was united in marriage to Lloyd Burrow, and they enjoyed several years of marriage until his passing on August 11, 1991.
Nelda was devoted housewife and mother. Her dedication to her family was a testament to her devotion as a Christian woman. Her actions were the truest expression of her loving nature as she lived a life of service and giving, the virtues she held dear. An avid reader and pianist, she found solace and joy in the pages of her beloved music and cherished the wisdom she gleaned from her Bible.
Survivors include her children, Scott Burrow, of Joplin, Steve Burrow, and his wife, Jayma, of Webb City, and Sonia Gaw, of Springfield; grandchildren, Brandon Burrow, and his wife, Amanda, of Webb City, Whittney Stockdale, and her husband, Jason, of Webb City, Heather Burroughs, and her husband, Steve, of Webb City, Gentry Gaw, of Joplin, Lindsay Gaw, of Springfield, Lloyd Joseph “L.J.” Burrow, of Tulsa; her great grandchildren, Cooper Burrow, Peyton Burrow, Emma Stockdale, Alex Henson, Blake Henson, Paxton Gaw, Chevelle Gaw, Kaylee Strickrod, Carson Strickrod, and Dalton Strickrod; and one great-great grandchild, Maddox.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 28, 2023, at 10:00 AM at Parker Mortuary in Joplin with burial to follow at 2:00 PM at Word Cemetery, 21774 W Mountain Rd, Gravette, AR 72736.
Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin.
