(From Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home)Larry Ray McElhany, 79, Wyandotte, OK passed into eternal rest December 27, 2023 after a sudden illness.
Larry Ray McElhany was born December 29, 1943 to Kenneth and Retha McElhany. He was a lifelong area resident. Larry was proud to have gone to the Turkey Ford School, or as he called it (TFU) Turkey Ford University.
He had worked for Ottawa County District 2 for many years. He was currently serving as a County Commissioner District 2.
Larry loved to hunt, fish and sing. He was a member of a singing group called "Joyful Noise". The group went to many churches and nursing homes singing. Larry had a servant's heart, he served on the Wyandotte Fire Department for 20 years and the last year of service there he served as Fire Chief.
He loved people, he was compassionate, giving and a true servant of God. Larry loved his family, his church family, his many friends at Ottawa County District 2 (whom he considered as family). Larry was a faithful member of the Seneca Assembly.
Larry married Sandy May 28, 1976 in Quapaw, OK and she survived.

Additional survivors include one son, Terry McElhany; one daughter, Sherry Stephens; his twin brother, Jerry McElhany; two sisters, Deloras Bartley and Beva Rhodes; 6 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren and one on the way.
The family will receive friends from 10am to 11am, Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at the Seneca Assembly of God. Funeral services will be held at 11am following the visitation. Burial will be in the Council House Cemetery, South of Wyandotte, OK.
