Gary Youngblood

Gary Lee Youngblood, age 76, die at 4:08 pm, Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at his home following an illness.

Gary was born August 13, 1947, in Joplin. His parents were Roland and Mazie (Walkenshaw) Youngblood. He had lived in Joplin the past 20 years, moving from Neosho. MO.

Gary graduated from Baxter Springs (KS) high school with the class of 1965. He worked as a foreman at B F Goodrich, Miani, OK for 20 years before becoming a plant manager at Ragland Mills for 15 years. He was a member of House of Prayer, Riverton, KS. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, and carpentry.

Gary was married to Shirley Anne Garrett on October 13, 1984, in Riverton, KS. She survives.

Additional survivors include 5 children; Scott Youngblood, Joplin, Doug Youngblood, Diamond, MO, Melissa Fowler, Oronogo, MO, Scott Martin, Denton, TX and Chris Martin, Papillion, NE. and 8 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Russell Youngblood.

Gary was entrusted to Derfelt Funeral Home, Galena, KS for cremation.
