Paul Wallis

(From Ozark Funeral Home)

Paul LeRoy Wallis passed away peacefully in the comfort of his own home on Thursday December 21st at the age of 79 after a long-fought battle with cancer. He has finally reunited with the other half of his soul, Janis, whom he has wanted to be with again for over 2 1/2 years.

Paul was born on October 29th, 1944 to Joseph and Allie Wallis (Douglas) in Gassville, Arkansas. By fate's design, their family ended up in Heber City. That is where two souls connected when Paul met Jan as teenager. For some time the young couple and their three daughters lived around the Four-State area, eventually planting roots in Pineville, Missouri. Paul had been in the same home he shared with Jan for the past 36 years.

Paul spent the majority of his working years as a mason in construction but his passion was restoring vintage cars. He was able to pass on his art talent down to many members of his family, as well as his green thumb. Along with cars Paul loved to hunt and fish, sharing plenty of those moments with his wife, kids, and grandchildren. His home had an open door to his loved ones, no matter the situation.

Paul and Jan would attend any event or game for their family, regardless of how they were feeling at that time. He always had a sparkle in his eye and a possible joke or trick up his sleeve. One of his favorites was sneaking an Easter egg into his pocket and then watching his family search everywhere for the missing egg.

Paul will be deeply missed. There is comfort in knowing he is at peace and has been brought together with his best friend Jan. He has left behind his three daughters Betty (Curtis) Cutlip of Neosho, Patti Kintz of Pineville, Robbi (Barry) Nelson of Pineville; sister Lavon Sharp of North East Ok., brothers Joe Wallis of Rolla, Jim (Sue) Wallis, and Bob (Carol) Wallis of North East Ok.; grandchildren Andrea Torrez, Amanda Gibbs, Jason Torrez, Penny Ponder, Alaina Williams, Tyler (Khaylea) Gibbs, and Katie (Austin) Francisco; 16 great-grandchildren with another on the way; two great great-grandchildren and another on the way; and many nieces and nephews.

Paul was welcomed home by his father and mother Joe and Allie Wallis, sister Patsy, and brothers Dennis and Jerry, as well as his wife Jan.
