Gilbert Kruse

Gilbert Gail Kruse, a devoted family man, passed away on December 27, 2023, at the age of 86, leaving behind a legacy of love and commitment. 

Born on May 11, 1937, in Neosho, MO, Gilbert's journey was one of both adventure and heartfelt connections. He proudly graduated from Neosho High School in 1955. 

After high school, he served in the United States Army. During his time stationed in Germany, he met the love of his life, Anna Maiershafer, whom he married on August 11, 1957, in Bocksberg, Germany, creating a union that lasted a lifetime. 






After his honorable service, Gilbert dedicated his career to the Kansas City Southern Railroad as a respected and diligent train conductor, serving the company until his retirement in 2000. His dedication to his work was unparalleled, and he built lasting connections throughout his career. 

Gilbert had a love for the outdoors; he was an enthusiastic hunter and fisherman. His passion for the outdoors was reflected in his membership in the NRA, showcasing his appreciation for nature's beauty. 

Gilbert leaves behind cherished memories for his sons who survive, Mitchell Kruse of Waynesville, Cameron Kruse, and his wife April of Neosho, and Kendall Kruse of Neosho. Additional survivors include his grandchildren, Roxanne Pigeon of France, Ashlen Kruse of Wichita, KS, and Kaden New of Cassville, MO, his great-grandchild, Lila Pigeon of France, and his sister Janice Field of Noblesville, IN. 

Gilbert's life was a testament to his commitment to family and the bonds he held dear. He is reunited in eternal peace with his beloved wife, parents, siblings Dennis, Kevin, Darryl, Ron, and Joyce, and an infant son, Gilbert Kruse.






 

A funeral service to honor Gilbert's life will be held at Clark Funeral Homes Chapel of Memories on Friday, December 29, 2023, at 2:00 PM, preceded by a visitation from 1:00 to 2:00 PM. Following the service, interment will take place at Neosho IOOF Cemetery.

In tribute to Gilbert's life and his love for animals, contributions can be made in his memory to Faithful Friends, 11281 State Hwy 86, Neosho, MO 64850.
