(From Hedge-Lewis-Goodwin Funeral Home)Diana Sue Hooper, aged 72, of Carthage, Missouri, passed away peacefully of natural causes on December 21, 2023, at St. Luke's Care Center in Carthage. Born on January 19, 1951, to the late Marvin and Margaret (Baugh) Russell, Diana's life was a testament to her loving, kind, and friendly nature.
She married her beloved husband, James Edward Hooper, on December 7, 1991, and they shared thirty-one years of devoted companionship until his passing earlier this year on March 17, 2023. Diana's professional life was marked by her dedication to the sheltered workshop where she worked for several years.
A woman of faith, Diana was a faithful member of Grace Pointe Assembly of God in Carthage, Missouri. Her commitment to her church community was unwavering, and she found great joy in fellowship with her church family. Diana's interests were a reflection of her vibrant personality; she had an enduring love for Elvis Presley and a fondness for all things colored red. She enjoyed shopping, eating out and was known around Carthage as the “Lady in Red”.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband James, and her three siblings, Nancy Martin, Catherine Moore, and Tom Keeling. Her memory will be lovingly carried on by her niece, Cindy Moore of Alba, Missouri, and a host of other family members and friends who were blessed to know her.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at St. Luke's Care Center for their compassionate care during Diana's final days. Her life's journey was one of grace and dignity, and she departed from this world in the same manner.
Funeral services are 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 27, 2023 in the chapel of Hedge-Lewis-Goodwin Funeral Home in Webb City, Missouri with Pastor Justin Beilah officiating. Burial will follow at Nashville Cemetery in Nashville, Missouri. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Hedge-Lewis-Goodwin Funeral Home in Webb City, Missouri.
