John Sandlin

John C. Sandlin was born on August 2, 1956, in Neosho, Missouri, one of four children to Theodore ‘Ted’ and Mozelle (Sharp) Sandlin. He entered into rest on December 19, 2023, in Joplin, Missouri, at the age of 67. 

John was a lifelong area resident and a graduate of East Newton High School. He continued his education at Texas A and M, earning a bachelor’s degree in marine engineering. He worked as a mariner engineer for twenty years; owned and operated H and R Block in Cassville, Missouri for thirty years, and was a cattle farmer. 








John enjoyed the associations of his clients through the years, farming, collecting farming equipment, and playing with and spending time with grandchildren. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Neosho. 

On October 30, 1987, in Shell Knob, Missouri, John and Marinda Miles were united in marriage and she survives. 

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Jonathan Miles and wife, Kara of Neosho; two grandchildren, Avery and Arris; three siblings, Sandra Mills and husband, John of Neosho, Tammy Barry and husband, Rick of Lee’s Summitt, Missouri and Tim Sandlin and wife, Maria of Navosota, Texas; his mother-in-law, JoAnn Miles of Shell Knob, Missouri and numerous nieces and nephews. 








He is preceded in death by his parents and father-in-law, Robert Miles. 

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 22, 2023, at 10 am at Calvary Baptist Church in Neosho. The family will receive friends Thursday evening at Calvary Baptist Church from 5 pm to 6:30 pm. 

In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of John may be made to Calvary Baptist Church (Acts 1:8) 2650 Oak Ridge Ext. Neosho, MO 64850
