Janice Marshall

Janice Marshall, age 82 of Carl Junction, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 14, 2025 at St. Luke’s Nursing Center in Carthage, with her family by her side.

Janice was born February 5, 1943 in Stockton, Missouri to the late Ralph and Edna (Johnson) Clayton. She graduated from Stockton High School in 1961 and soon after married her high school sweetheart, Donald Marshall on July 29, 1961. It wasn’t long after that they moved to the Waco, Mo. area where she started working at Waco Schools. 






They eventually moved to Carl Junction where Janice worked at Elders Shirt Factory and National Mills, before retiring from the Carl Junction School District where she worked in the cafeteria for many years. She was previously active in her church, Pleasant Hill Country Church until COVID hit and her health started to decline.

Janice lived an active life, raising her girls, cooking and baking for anyone in need, and most importantly, supporting all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Other than her parents, Janice is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Marshall; siblings, Ralph Elton, Phyllis, Barbara and Donna.







Those left to mourn her passing include her sister, Linda Shelton of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; daughters, Tammy Sparlin (Walter) of Carl Junction, Tonya Dilbeck (Chuck) of Harrisonville, Missouri; grandchildren, Wesley Sparlin (Kylee), Kimberly Therrien (Kyle), Shannon Wray (Nick), Shelby Locke (Aaron) and Syndi Corson (Coleman); great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Adelynn, Easton, Waverly, Arlo, Howie, Honey, Millie, Oliver, Zeke, Theo, and Baby Corson.

Funeral services are planned for Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at the Parker Mortuary Chapel. Cremation will follow the service and ashes will be buried at the Carl Junction Cemetery at a later date.

Funeral arrangements are under the personal care of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
