June Osborn

Vera “June” Osborn, age 96, of Joplin, passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at Wildwood Senior Living.

June was born on March 25, 1928 in Washburn, MO to the union of Elmer and Ada (Antel) Weston. After high school, she attended Springfield Draughon Business University and graduated with her Bachelor’s Degree in 1946. She then married the love of her life, J.D. Osborn, on May 21, 1950. To this union came a daughter, Janice “Jan” Dee Osborn and a son, Terry Lee Osborn. Together they were blessed with 68 years of marriage before his passing on December 6, 2018. 






She contributed her longevity to loving fresh fruits & vegetables, as a result from growing up on the farm, and continued that throughout her life. She enjoyed exercising in several forms that included: belly dancing lessons, Tai Chi classes and strength & balance classes. She spent countless hours volunteering at the Garden Club on Holiday Island. In her spare time, she loved gardening and cultivating flowers everywhere they lived.

In addition to her husband and parents, June was preceded in death by her two brothers, Wilmer D. Weston and Curtis Ross Weston; and an infant sister.








June is survived by her two children, Jan Finegan and husband, Jim, of Salida, CO and Terry Osborn, of San Diego, CA; one granddaughter, Christina Ann Gailitis; two great-grandchildren, Blaine Alexander Gailitis and Kyliana June Gailitis; Glenda and Wayne Moudy and their children, Todd, Matt and Jeff; Nancy and Warren Lacey and their children, Christen and Megan; Becky and Marty Petty and their children, Michelle and Vanessa; Gwen and Tom Huber and their children, Clint and Ben; Brent and Joann Weston; Abe and Glenda Loudermilk, Phyllis and Frank Loudermilk, Bruce Loudermilk, Jane Ellen Loudermilk, Curtis and Mary Eva Hart, Senna and Kuzma Kopano, Carolyn Laswell; a host of friends and neighbors; and many great-great nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be sent to cancer research of your choosing.

Cremation arrangements are under the special care of Parker Mortuary.
