Mary K. Elliott

Mary Kathryn(K) Elliott of Joplin, Missouri entered the gates of heaven March 5th, 2025 after a short stay at the Communities of Wildwood. Visitation will be Monday March 10th at Thornhill Dillon and will begin at 10AM with a service at 11AM. Burial will Immediately follow in Cherokee, Kansas. Honoring Mary K. as pallbearers will be grandsons Brett Schwab, Chris Elliott, Brandon Elliott, Ian Elliott and great grandsons Aaron Elliott, Braxton Schwab, and Landry Schwab.

Mary K Elliott was born August 30, 1933 to Patrick and Minnie Robertson Mc Namara in Scammon, Kansas. She married William Daniel Elliott of Pittsburg, Kansas on June 12, 1954 in Scammon Kansas. She worked at Spencer Chemical and would later retire from the Missouri Department of Revenue. Mary K was a loving wife, mom, and grandmother. 

She will be remembered for her feisty sense of humor, love of sports and playing bridge with her many friends. She was a member of Joplin Women’s club and a lifelong member of St. Mary’s Catholic church.

Mary K is survived by her children Joe Elliott and wife Brenda of Webb City and Bryan Elliott and wife Tami of Webb City. Grandchildren Brett Schwab, Ashley Cox, Chris Elliott, Brandon Elliott, Ian Elliott, Brooklyn Elliott, Kileigh Smith, Kaila Smith, Nathan Friend, Nicki Layton and great grandchildren Madalyn Cox, Aaron Elliott, Ella Schwab, Kaloni Elliott, Emma Cox, Kennady Schwab, Eli Elliott, Braxton Schwab, and Landry Schwab.

Mary K was preceded in death by her parents Pat and Minnie McNamara, husband Willam Daniel Elliott, brothers Joe Wade and Gene McNamara.

Arrangements are under the direct care of Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary in Joplin, MO.
