(From Ozark Funeral Home)It is with heavy hearts and deep gratitude for a life well lived that we announce the passing of June Hope (Johnson) Sherman on April 3, 2026, at the age of 84, in Bentonville, Arkansas.
June was born on June 27, 1941, to Oak and Edith (Chrisman) Johnson. She grew up in the Noel–Pineville area and attended Pineville School, where she developed the values of family, hard work, and community that would guide her throughout her life.
On June 11, 1960, she married the love of her life, Clyde Lee Sherman. Together they shared 65 years of marriage, building a legacy grounded in commitment, strength, and enduring love. Clyde survives her.
June was a hardworking and dedicated woman throughout her life. Her first job was at Havenhurst’s Old Mill Ice Cream Parlor in Pineville, MO. She later worked for the McDonald County Commodity Office and then devoted over 30 years of service to the Division of Family Services before retiring. Never one to stay idle, she went on to work another 27 years as a front office representative and Payroll Supervisor at Oak View Animal Clinic in Pea Ridge, Arkansas, where she was a friendly and familiar face to many. Clients knew her as “Ms. June,” the person who would get things done.
June was of the Baptist faith and a faithful member of Mill Creek Church in Noel, Missouri.
She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister whose greatest joy came from her family. She is survived by her four children: Alesia Ann Parish of Noel, Missouri; Sandra Lea Rickman (Rex) of Pineville, Missouri; Dr. Karen Sue Sherman, DVM, of Pea Ridge, Arkansas; and Aaron Sherman (Renae) of Anderson, Missouri. She also leaves behind seven cherished grandchildren: Bobby Parish (Le’Ann) of Noel, Missouri; Ann Parish of Noel, Missouri; Jake Rickman and Sarah Rickman of Pineville, Missouri; Andrew Sherman (Samantha Leigh) of Anderson, Missouri; Ashton Sherman (Thomas) of Rogers, Arkansas; and Nathan Sherman (Samantha Paige) of Anderson, Missouri. June was further blessed with seven great-grandchildren: Zoe Parish of Goodman, Missouri; John and Daniel Parish of Noel, Missouri; Easton and Baylea Hope Sherman of Anderson, Missouri; and Clay and Jay Sherman of Anderson, Missouri. She is also survived by her three brothers: Larry Johnson (Carol) of Seneca, Missouri; Gary Johnson (Kathy) of Grove, Oklahoma; and J.D. Johnson of Anderson, Missouri, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
June was preceded in death by her brother, Lavon Johnson; her sister-in-law, Kathy Johnson; her sister-in-law, Kathryn Johnson; and her son-in-law, Bob Parish.
Known affectionately as “Sister,” June was the heart of her family—a steady, loving presence who brought warmth, comfort, and strength to all who knew her. She was a busy woman—so much so that her children often said they weren’t sure she ever slept. She found joy in caring for her home and family, whether canning, cleaning, or preparing for gatherings.
She especially loved decorating for the holidays, with Christmas holding a special place in her heart. Her collection of Santa Clauses became a treasured tradition and reflected the joy she brought to every season.
Above all, June loved her family. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy. She often said, “All work stops when the babies are here,” a saying that perfectly captured her priorities and the deep love she had for the youngest members of her family.
Her legacy is one of love, resilience, tireless devotion, and family-a legacy that will live on in each of the lives she touched.
Though she will be deeply missed, her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved her.
Funeral services for June will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, April 8, 2026 at the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Home. Pastor Mark Hall will officiate. Burial will follow the service in the Pineville cemetery in Pineville, MO.
