(From Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home)Michael James Darby, age 67, of Mt. Vernon, Missouri, passed away at 12:20 p.m. on Monday, March 23, 2026, at his home. He was born May 3, 1958, in Dallas, Texas, the son of Billy Ray and Jacqueline (McNicholl) Darby Sr.
Michael was a 1976 graduate of Grandview High School in Grandview, Missouri. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and was a truck driver for Yellow Freight for 14 years. He was a member of the Lockwood Baptist Church, in Lockwood, Missouri.
Michael is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Roe and her husband, Matthew, of El Dorado Springs, Missouri; one son, Nicholas Darby, of Hallandale Beach, Florida; four grandchildren, Cydney and Cylus Garrett and Hunter and Christian Darby; three sisters, Lauren McNicholls of the state of Washington, Lisa Parnell and her husband, William Hutchison of Miller, Missouri and Shannon Darby of Mt. Vernon, Missouri; one brother, Steven Reardon of Golden City, Missouri; his very special aunt and uncle, Kibbie and Boot Stewart of Rowlett, Texas and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Billy, and Jacqueline Darby Sr; one brother, Billy Ray Darby Jr; one sister, Dierdre “Dee” Standhardt and one granddaughter, Braxton Garrrett.
No services are planned at this time. Arrangements are under the direction of Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon, Missouri.
