Ron Record

(From Ozark Memorial Park Crematory)

Ronald Lee Record, 82, of Joplin Missouri, passed away on April 14, 2026. He was born on November 16, 1943, to Terrell and Pauline Record in Joplin, Missouri. Ron attended Joplin High School, graduating with the Class of ‘61. He then went on to Jasper County Junior College to gain his associates degree. Post education, he served in the United States Army for six years where he was a mail clerk and worked in supply. After his role in the Army, he began working at First National Bank, AKA Mercantile Bank, where he served many notable roles including Mortgage Loan Officer, Deputy Comptroller, and Buildings and Securities. These positions led to meeting his now wife, Paula Trease.

The two married on April 20, 1997, and were together for nearly 29 years. After years at the bank, they both retired and decided to open their community’s beloved storefront known as, “Scrapbook Fever.” Both experienced and business-savvy but with Paula’s creative side and Ron’s technology side, this created a winning team in this space for close to 10 years. Ron was passionate about many things, but most notably for programming. He assisted many businesses with the transition from paper books to digital ones, programming it all himself.

Ron was an intelligent, witty, compassionate person with a healthy dose of friendly sarcasm. He was an exceptionally loved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Ron is survived by his wife Paula, his daughter Leann (Randy, Colorado), stepchildren: Jason (Terri, Eldon), and Amanda (Joplin); grandchildren Jocelyn (Chayton, Columbia), Jaden (Kayla, Webb City), Isaiah, Caitlyn, Rowan, and great-grandchildren; Lancin, Coleson, Harlow, Cash, and Everly. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, April 20th, a fitting date as this would have been Ron and Paula’s 29th anniversary. It will be held from 5-7pm at The Main Event in Joplin, Missouri (611 S Main St, Joplin, MO 64801) with full military honors to begin at 6:00 PM with a 21-Gun Salute to be performed in honor of his service in the Army.

Cremation arrangements are under the personal care of Ozark Memorial Park Crematory of Joplin, Missouri.

  1. Additional surviving daughters are Stacy Stark (husband Chris -Colorado) and Amy Gilbert (husband Eric-Neosho) and grandchildren Tiffani Corbin (Landon-Oronogo), Sarah D'Marco (husband Nick), Jacob Solinger and Reid Gilbert. Tiffani was the first granchild and he was over the moon about her.

Ron adopted Stacy and Amy from his previous marriage. And always treated the three of us girls the same.

Ron was a great dad and PaPa. He will be missed immensely, RIP dad.
