(From Meadors Funeral Home)Juanita Sue Mitchell, of Halltown, MO, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on April 05, 2026, at the age of 69. Sue, as she was lovingly known, was born in Lawrence County, Missouri on October 15, 1956, to Vardry and Georgia (Frossard) McElroy and was one of six children in the home.
Sue graduated from Miller High School with the class of 1974. She worked at Positronic in Springfield for over 30 years. Sue was a happy, helpful person who never met a stranger. She enjoyed sewing, crafting, making small talk and going out with her best friend from childhood, Ellen Hitchcock. Sue also enjoyed watching the Hallmark Channel, especially their movies, but the one thing she enjoyed doing above all, was spending time with her grandchildren.
Sue is survived by her children, Kurtis Mitchell and his wife Melinda and Tammy Johnston and her husband Thomas, grandchildren Aspen Bettini (Dylan), Samuel, Jaxon and Jase Johnston, Kelsey Caldwell(Eric), Tyler Cobb (Bailey), Kelsey Chiarello (Ally) and Eldon and Canyon Derringer, great grandchildren Avery and Taelyn Cobb, Laine Chiarello and Addison Caldwell, siblings Jimmy (Donna), David (Elaine), Beverly (Mike), Randy (Gail), Sammy (Patty), her lifelong friend Ellen Hitchcock as well as other extended family and countless friends. Sue’s smile and contagious laugh will be greatly missed by all who have been touched by her.
Preceding Sue in death are her parents, and her grandson Kodiak Mitchell.
A Celebration of Sue’s life will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Paris Springs Methodist Church in Everton, MO at 11 am. Sue’s care has been entrusted to Meadors Funeral Home in Republic, and permanent online condolences may be made at www.meadorsfuneralhome.com
