Fred Taylor

Fred Warren Taylor, of Greenfield, MO, departed this life on Saturday, June 30, 2018, surrounded by his loving family at the Missouri Veterans Home in Mt. Vernon, MO at the age of 82 years.

He was born on December 5, 1935 in Lockwood, MO to Charles W. and Mary F. (Burrow) Taylor. Fred graduated from Lockwood High School. He served his country in the United States Army. Fred was united in marriage to Ruby J. Peters on June 30, 1975 in Miami, OK. He retired from working on the Railroad Bridge Gang. Fred was a very talented musician. He was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church and the Baptist Men’s Association.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Charles and Mary Taylor; his brother, Bob Taylor; and two sisters, Lavern Spielman and Audrey Dorsett.

Survivors include his wife, Ruby Taylor of the home; three sons, Dan Peters and Shanna Slack of Everton, MO, Butch Taylor of Springfield, MO, and Michael Peters of Everton, MO; four daughters, Kathy Foust and husband Jason of Everton, MO, Margaret Taylor of Greenfield, MO, Lisa Hay and husband John of New Zealand; and Gretchen Stolc and husband Steve of Lamar, MO; two sisters, Dixie Crouch of South Greenfield, MO and Mary Raley of Robertsdale, Al; ten grandchildren, Brian Davis of Ankeny, IA, Nathan Peters of Republic, MO, Dustin Peters of Greenfield, MO, Tiffany George of Oronogo, MO, Kaleb Rook of Lamar, MO, Brandon Peters of Springfield, MO, Bobby Raby of Willard, MO, Rick Crabtree of Greenfield, MO, Lauren Hay of New Zealand, and Georgia Hay of New Zealand; twelve great-grandchildren, Drew Gasgill of Ankeny, IA, Parker Davis of Ankeny, IA, Kaisen Davis of Ankeny, IA, Lily Patterson of Lee’s Summit, MO, Connor Patterson of Lee’s Summit, MO, Rory Rook of Lamar, MO; Gunner George of Oronogo, MO, Gabby George of Oronogo, MO, Logan Peters of Republic, MO, Koberly Peters of Republic, MO, Evelyn Grace Peters of Republic, MO, and Dwayne Pecor of Republic, MO; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 5, 2018, in Greenfield Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Kings Point Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday at 2:00 p.m. until service time in the funeral chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association.
