Harley Minnier

Harley E. Minnier, Jr., 57, of Wheaton, Missouri passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, September 30th, 2018 following a long battle with cancer.

Harley was born on December 12th, 1960 to Dorothy and Harley E. Minnier, Sr. in Tacoma, Washington. He grew up in Anchorage, Alaska. Following high school, he enlisted in the Army and served for several years before beginning his career in mechanics in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. Harley married his first wife, Christine Minnier, in 1993. Harley completed motorcycle mechanic school at the Motorcycle Mechanics Institute in Phoenix, Arizona in 1997. After working for Easy Riders in Springfield for several years, Harley opened his own motorcycle shop in Wheaton, Missouri where he and his business were a mainstay of the community for over ten years. Harley was a proud member of the Pythagoras Lodge #383 in Cassville, Missouri and the Abou Ben Adhem Shrine in Springfield, Missouri. He was also an active participant in the Wheaton Street Machines.

Survivors include his mother, Dorothy Minnier, of the home; his loving life partner, Teresa “Tweety” Loncarich of Fairview; one sister, Diana Baughman and her significant other JR Riordan, of Eagle Rock; one brother, Allan J. Minnier and his significant other Denise Quigley, of Newport News, Virginia; three stepsons, George Raybin of York, Pennsylvania, Mark Raybin and wife Tiffany of York, Pennsylvania, and Allen Smith of Fairview; five stepdaughters, Lori King and husband Derrick of Cassville, Holly Loncarich of Huntsville, Arkansas, Cheyenne Loncarich of Neosho, Winona Loncarich of Joplin, and Dorothy Smith of Fairview. Additionally, Harley is survived by five grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Harley was preceded in death by his father, Harley E. Minnier, Sr.; one great nephew, Evan Garrison; and wife Christine Minnier.

Services will be held at 1:00 pm. Saturday, October 6, 2018 at Wheaton Southern Baptist Church in Wheaton, Missouri under direction of McQueen Funeral Home in Wheaton. Pastor Paul Wahlert will conduct the services. Burial will be at Muncie Chapel Cemetery in Wheaton.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 pm on Friday, October 5th at McQueen Funeral Home in Wheaton with masonic rights at 7:00 conducted by Pythagoras Lodges #383. The family asks that any memorial contributions in Harley’s memory be made to The Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
