Donna Marie Hietala was born February 23, 1940 in Wadena County, Minnesota, one of thirteen children to Merle and Lucille (Rice) Manselle. She entered into rest on September 1, 2019 in Joplin, Missouri, following an extended illness at the age of 79.
Donna moved to the Neosho area on January 17, 2016 from Sebeka, Minnesota. She had owned and operated a daycare facility and had worked as a bank teller. She enjoyed doing needlework, scrapbooking and was an avid reader. She was a member of the United Methodist Church.
Donna and Sidney Hietala were married on July 15, 1985 in Wadena, Minnesota and he survives. Additional survivors include two daughters, Doris Ann Dalbey and Audrey Olson; two stepchildren, Cynthia Forbes and Russell R. Hietala; one brother, Charles (Chuck) Bimberg and wife, Judy; two sisters, Carol Stockdale and husband, Sheldon (Shelly) and Margaret (Maggie) McCoy and husband, Lacey; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by a daughter, Debra Gettel; her parents and eight siblings, Wilbur (Bill) Manselle, Robert Manselle, Lyle Manselle, Blanche Ash, Fern Kingery, Rodger Sorum, David Sorum, Lucille (Lucy) Karlson and an infant sister, Dorothy.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, Sept. 5, 2019 at 3:30 pm at the Sheep Shed on Gateway Drive, Neosho, Missouri. Interment of the cremains will be in the Haycreek Cemetery in Ottertail County, Sebeka, Minnesota on September 21st, 2019.
