Elaine L. Roland, age 71, of Joplin, passed away on Monday, September 2, 2019 at Freeman Hospital West, Joplin. Mrs. Roland, daughter of the late Billy and Allene (Pyles) Kingrey, was born on June 8, 1948 in Joplin. She was a lifelong resident and a 1967 graduate of Joplin Sr. High School.
On July 9, 1968, Elaine was united in marriage to John Roland, in Joplin. Together they enjoyed 51 years of marriage. She was previously employed at Aegis Communications Group, retiring after several years of service. She enjoyed crocheting but loved spending time with her family.
Survivors include her husband, John Roland, of Joplin; two sons, Troy Roland, and his wife, Heather, of Carl Junction, and Caleb Roland, of Joplin; one daughter, Amy Oakes, and her husband, Christopher, of Joplin; two sisters, Vivian Nash, of Wagoner, OK, and Susan Walker, of Joplin; and six grandchildren, Austin Roland, Patrick Roland, Shannon Marie Roland, Samuel Oakes, Isabella Oakes, and Annaliese Oakes.
Memorial visitation will be held on Friday, September 6, 2019 from 5:00 pm until 6:00 pm at the Mason-Woodard Mortuary in Joplin. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mindenmines Church of God and may be entrusted to the mortuary.
